What's New, What Changes In 2026 - Gurgaon

1. New Connectivity

New Metro Line between Millennium City Center and the Cyber City. This year, the project is expected to enter Phase-2 with the tender process for civil works likely to commence. The 16km corridor will run from sector-9 to Cyber City and will include a spur linking Gurgaon Railway station. The geotechnical survey for Phase-2 has been completed and station design is currently in progress.

Gurgaon-Pataudi-Rewari Highway

Once operational, the highway is expected to enhance connectivity between Gurgaon, southern Haryana and Rajasthan, easing traffic on Delhi-Jaipur Expressway. 

  • Project cost: Rupees 900 crore.
  • Major stretch likely to open by mid-Feb.
  • 43 km highway
  • Improved access to Manesar, Bilaspur and Dharuhera
Revamp for SPR

The 12km stretch, planned as an elevated corridor from Ghata Chowk to NH-8 is expected to enable signal-free travel, cut commute times and strengthen connectivity between Golf Course Road Extension, Sohna Road, and NH-8.

  • Project cost: Rupees 75 crore for leg-1 of SPR(Vatika Chowk-NH8).
Delhi-Gurgaon-Bawal RRTS corridor

Newly approved rapid rail line under the Namo Bharat system. It will run from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Bawal in Haryana (about 93 km), passing through Gurgaon, Manesar, and Rewari.

  • Project cost: Rupees 32,000 crore
  • 93 km high speed regional corridor
  • Reduced travel time and pressure of NH8
  • Improved access to industrial hubs in south Haryana.
2. Decongesting New Sectors

Flyover at Dadi Sati chowk

The 630m flyover at Dadi Sati chowk will unclog a critical junction serving new sectors, where the traffic load has surged with new condominiums and the opening of the Dwarka Expressway.

  • Project cost: Rupees 59 crore
  • Serves sectors 85, 86, 89 and 90.
  • Set to improve rush-hour traffic flow.
Flyover at Ambedkar chowk.

The flyover stretch planned near Artemis Hospital will ease chronic congestion around dense residential and commercial pockets reducing travel time for thousands of motorists.

  • Rupees 52 crore
  • Four-lane stretch 
  • Servers sectors 52, 56, 57 and Ardee City

3. Booster Dose For Health Infra

New Civil Hospital

Gurugram’s new Civil Hospital will be located on a nine-acre site in Sector 10, with modern infrastructure, digital registration systems, and advanced medical facilities.

  • Project cost: Rupees 989.8 crore
  • 10-storey, 872 bed hospital
  • Capacity for 3,000 OPD Patients daily

Sheetla Mata Devi Medical College & Hospital

Sheetla Mata Devi Medical College and Hospital at Kherki Majra is now taking clear shape.

  • Project cost: Rupees 541 crore
  • 883-bed tertiary facility
  • College with 250 seats
  • Residential facilities
  • Reduced load Sec 10 Hospital
4. New Water Plants

Basai Treatment Plant(Unit 4)

Basai plant will enhance the city's water treatment capacity. Initially planned in June 2022 as a 90 MLD facility, the project was revised in 2023 to align with GMDA's long-term infrastructure roadmap.

  • Project cost: Rupees 166 crore
  • Increased bulk water treatment capacity
  • 100 MLD facility
  • Long-term water security once operational.

Chandu Budhera Plant(Unit 5)

Additional 100 MLD capacity will strengthen Gurgaon's water supply amid rapid urban growth.

  • Project cost: Rupees 53 crore
  • Additional 100 MLD capacity
  • Total plant capacity to rise to 500 MLD
  • Water supply to sectors 81-115

5. Cleaner 'Gaman' For a Growing City

200 More e-buses

Last-mile connectivity is expected to improve with induction of 200 electric buses under the PM e-Sewa scheme. At present Gurgaon has only 150 operational city buses, many of which are old and frequently break down.

  • Low-emission buses
  • Strengthening an under-sized bus fleet
  • Reduced dependence on private vehicles
6. Solutions To Waterlogging

Stormwater drain(leg iv)

A 5.2 km stormwater drain being built along sectors 69, 70, 75 and 75A to mitigate recurring monsoon flooding. The drain will carry rainwater runoff and reduce the load on Badshapur drain, which often overflows during intense rainfall.

  • Project cost: Rupees 105 crore
  • 5.2 m drain from Vatika Chowk to NH8
  • Reduces load on Badshapur drain
  • Relief for flood-prone sectors and roads.
7. Own HQ for MCG, Finally

MCG is set to get its permanent headquarters. Launched in Dec 2021, the project was delayed after the estimated cost increased from rupees 129 crore to 171 crore, necessitating fresh approval from the state govt.

It will replace the rented HSVP facility in sector 34, for which the civic body pays nearly rupees 28 lakh per month.

  • Project cost: Rupees 171 crore
  • End to rented office operations
  • 10 floors, 650-seat auditorium
